All that I love, all that I see – in all its colours, in all its beauty
Fortitude, a bird blue
In the branches of despair
Kites of damning thoughts get stuck
And so carefully in your
Chest pockets you must tuck
Fortitude a bird blue
Of all weathers
And find simple joy
In its iridescent feathers.
You’re most welcome. I’ve posted many other beautiful poems on my blog by Hafiz, Rumi, Emily Dickinson, Mary Oliver, William Stafford, Billy Collins, and my own, to name a few.
Nice. Reminds me a little of the ending to Wallace Stevens’s poem, Of Mere Being, https://theuncarvedblog.com/2014/07/16/a-mysterious-bird-in-this-wallace-stevens-poem-teaches-us-the-wonder-of-just-being-our-self/ Also see This Heavy Craft by P.K.
